Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law so-called “anti-woke” legislation on April 22nd, 2022. This legislation amends the Florida Civil Rights Act and will likely limit the ability of employers to require, as a condition of employment, training that includes discussions of “implicit bias” or “systemic racism”.
The new law will take effect on July 1, 2022, and will apply to Florida organizations employing 15 or more employees company-wide.
Clearly, this is a highly controversial topic and one that will cause many heated discussions among Florida employers and employees alike.
