As we usher in 2023, we are full of hope and promise for a new year filled with opportunity and growth.
As HR professionals and Slashes who are trying to juggle HR along with many other duties, many of you have expressed the desire to be a part of a group that studies HR theory along with the real-life application that teaches us how to not only better understand HR but also be ready to move into more responsible roles with better pay, benefits, and promise for the future.
In response to these requests and comments, I am forming a weekly study group for just this purpose. In this group, we will take a more detailed look at HR today and in the future. We will learn HR/employment laws theory and break down not only the what and why, but the HOW.
This weekly group will meet on Zoom for 90 minutes, every Thursday night from 7 – 8:30 pm CENTRAL for 16 weeks for a grand total of 24 hours. All of the sessions will be recorded and replays will be made available for 12 months from the date of the session.
These sessions will be approved by HRCI and SHRM for 24 recertification credits. If you are not yet certified, this is a great way to prep for your HRCI or SHRM exam. We will use a variety of resources for our discussions, but our main resource will be the PHR and SPHR Study Guide by Sandra M. Reed. You can buy it on Amazon for around $40 in paperback or Kindle.
If you are already certified, great! You will have 24 recert credits and a beneficial learning experience that will move you ahead in your HR career.
Our sessions will begin on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 and end on Thursday, May 18th, 2023. It’s very important that attendance is good for the majority of the sessions in order to maintain a conversational learning environment.
