  • Must an employer pay for the employee’s drive or travel time from home to the residence of the individual receiving services?

No. Under the FLSA, normal home-to-work travel does not need to be paid regardless of whether the employee works at a fixed location or at different job sites. If a direct care worker travels to the first work site directly from home, and returns directly home from the final work site, this commuting travel time generally does not need to be paid.
