 1.  IRS updates FAQs on tax credits for paid leave


 

Fact sheet 2022-16 updates frequently asked questions (FAQs) for the Tax Credits for Paid Leave Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act for leave prior to April 1, 2021.

 

These FAQs additions are as follows:

  • New — Tax credits for paid leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act for leave prior to April 1, 2021: Special issues for employers: Other issues: Q54g
  • New — Tax credits for paid leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act for leave prior to April 1, 2021: Specific provisions related to self-employed individuals: Q65c

 

 


  2.  The IRS is hiring: Start a new career


 

The IRS is looking to fill more than 5,000 positions in its processing centers in Austin, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri; and Ogden, Utah as part of a larger hiring effort underway in the next several months.

 

Like many other federal agencies and companies around the country, the pandemic created challenges for IRS operations, and the IRS is working to ensure they have the resources needed to provide better service to taxpayers.

 

These positions include many entry-level clerk and tax examiner jobs, as well as positions for those pursuing careers in:

  • Accounting and tax administration
  • Business administration
  • Criminal investigation
  • Customer service
  • Information technology
  • Law, and more
