What is the proper way for employees and supervisors to approve timecards? Here are some examples: 1. The employee has been out on sick leave for several days so his supervisor fills out his time voucher and signs it in the space the EE should sign. The time gets entered into ADP by the supervisor and gets submitted. Is this okay even though the EE did not sign anything approving their time? 2. The EE fills out the first 7 days of the pay period and the supervisor fills out the last 7 days because the EE went out on annual or sick leave. Would the EE still be responsible to sign the time voucher or is it okay for the supervisor to only sign?

1.    The employee has been out on sick leave for several days so his supervisor fills out his time voucher and signs it in the space the EE should sign. The time gets entered into ADP by the supervisor and gets submitted. Is this okay even though the EE did not sign anything approving their time? Yes, this is fine because you are tracking the sick time and there are no physical hours worked.

2.    The EE fills out the first 7 days of the pay period and the supervisor fills out the last 7 days because the EE went out on annual or sick leave. Would the EE still be responsible to sign the time voucher or is it okay for the supervisor to only sign? The employee should sign this card since there are physical hours worked. If he cannot physically sign, an email acknowledgment would be a good workaround.
